Ph.D. in Meteorology and Physical Oceanography from RSMAS, Univ. of Miami (1999), M.Sc. in Ocean Engineering from PENO/COPPE/UFRJ, and B.Sc. in Oceanography from UERJ. Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Coastal and Oceanographic Engineering Group at the Grad. School of Engineering – PENO/COPPE/UFRJ, and the Politechnical School – DENO/EP/UFRJ) and Head of the Physical Oceanography Laboratory – LOF/COPPE/UFRJ. Main research interests are Physical Oceanography and Environmental Sciences, with emphasis on ocean modeling and geophysical fluid dynamics, ocean thermodynamics and air-sea interactions, and climate variability.
