He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2003) and a PhD in Ocean Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2011) where part of this was held at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) for a period of 1 year (2008-2009). He worked as Senior Researcher and Leader of the Marine Technology Group of SINTEF do Brasil (ISdB) and as a Visiting Researcher of ANP-PRH-03 in the Ocean and Naval Engineering Program (PENO, 2016-2017). In 2019 he assumed the position of Adjunct Professor in the Department of Naval and Ocean Engineering (DENO) of the Polytechnic School / UFRJ. He has experience in Naval and Ocean Engineering, with emphasis on Theoretical and Experimental Structural Analysis.
